Wulkan Etna znowu dał o sobie znać. Wyrzucił w powietrze fontannę lawy, popiół oraz fragmenty skał. Nad kraterem unosiła się chmura ciemnego dymu.
Jak zaznaczają specjaliści, sycylijska Etna to jeden z bardziej aktywnych na świecie wulkanów. Znajduje się na wschodnim wybrzeżu Sycylii. Jego wysokość to ok. 3340 m n.p.m.
